Open for the 2010 Lavender
Festival, 10 am to 5 pm
Willakenzie Lavender is the lavender farm Debbie Gorham and Bob
Applegate operate just outside of Yamhill, Oregon, in the heart
of wine country. They grow close to 4000 lavender plants
including Royal Velvet, Maillette, Violet Intrigue, Gros Bleu,
Provence, and Grosso. Display beds feature 50 different varieties. Panoramic
views surround their home along with rose and perennial gardens.
Willakenzie Lavender demonstrates essential oil distillation on
summer weekends. The oil is used in the farm’s own line of
premium bath and body care products. Lavender plants, crafts,
essential oil, and culinary products are also available in the
farm store. The ‘U-Pick’ lavender fields open
as soon as the lavender flowers open.
The farm is also home to Velveteen Alpacas, offering show and
pet quality alpacas for sale as well as fleece, yarn, and garments
made from the herd’s fiber. Books, garden tools, cards,
and gifts as well as artwork done by plein air artists are also
available.
The farm and gift shop are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from
10 am to 5 pm beginning Memorial Day Weekend through bloom season.
The farm and gift shop are also open in late November during wine
tasting weekends. Group tours are welcome by appointment. Please
call 503-662-4297 or email Debbie at dlgorham@verizon.net if
you’d like to schedule a visit. Please visit our website
at www.willakenzielavender.com.
A percentage of the sales proceeds from the Oregon Lavender Festival
at Willakenzie Lavender are donated to the Oregon Humane Society. We
support the big-hearted people who help animals in need.
